Originally I had planned to do a flashier cover showing Nathan dangling over the incinerator. However, my editor made a big point of how much he liked the moment with Eli's glasses, so I eventually decided to try something based on that. In the end I'm glad I went in this direction; it's more true to the tone of the book.
